Founded in 2005, Beyond the Image (BTI Gallery) is a unique, not-for-profit photography hub nestled in the heart of the historic Thornham Estate in Suffolk. What started as a vision to elevate photography to the status of fine art has grown into a vibrant community of "lens-based" artists and enthusiasts.

Unlike traditional commercial spaces, BTI is run by a passionate collective of photographers. We aren’t just here to hang art on walls; we are here to foster creativity, share technical expertise, and provide a professional platform for both established and emerging artists. From our quarterly themed exhibitions to our multidisciplinary guest artist showcases, we believe in the power of the image to challenge perspectives and fire the imagination.
